What Services Does Tots ’N’ Teens Provide?

January 4, 2019

Pediatric Urgent Care

When your child feels sick, or when they experience a recurrence or exacerbation of symptoms caused by a known health issue, they need to be seen right away. If your doctor isn’t available, urgent care can be the answer.

That’s where we fit in – between your pediatrician’s office and the emergency room. Tots ’N’ Teens provides specialized pediatric urgent care, plus some extra services that may surprise you.

Making Your Child Feel Better

Children need special care, and a special approach to care, that helps make their visits as stress-free as possible. One of the most important things we do is to see you and your child quickly. That means from the minute you walk in the door, to when your child gets treated, and you head back home – we minimize your wait times.

Emergency rooms can get swamped, and wait times can be long, because the emergency services team must focus on patients who have more life-threatening problems. At San Antonio Tots ’N’ Teens, we focus on problems just like yours – conditions that could be seen by your doctor, except it’s the weekend, or after office hours.

Urgent Things We Treat Every Day

  • Bee stings and insect bites
  • Upper respiratory infections, including the common cold
  • Strep throat
  • Pink eye
  • Earache
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Influenza (the flu)
  • Rashes and hives
  • Food allergies and food intolerance

In addition to our specialized doctors and medical staff, we provide a full range of diagnostic imaging and testing. We do all of this in-house – there is usually no need for you to go to a separate lab or an outside service. Some of the onsite services we provide include:

  • X-ray imaging tests, including low-radiation X-ray with high-resolution imagery
  • Rapid testing for flu, strep, and respiratory viruses
  • Pregnancy tests

We also treat breathing problems, such as asthma exacerbations or attacks.

We provide antibiotic treatments to make sure cuts and wounds don’t get worse, and also to prevent complications from other illnesses. Scrapes, cuts, and even fractures often occur in pediatric populations. We routinely:

  • Provide splinting for sprains or fractures
  • Stitch or tissue-glue cuts and large scratches
  • Remove foreign objects from ears, noses, skin, etc.

In case we need to rule out certain conditions, we can provide comprehensive blood, urine, and chemistry analysis. Other services we provide include:

  • Breathing treatments
  • Antibiotic administration
  • Foreign body removal from ear, nose, and skin

Routine Healthcare for Your Child – on Your Schedule

In addition to providing urgent care exactly when you need it, we provide routine healthcare and checkups at your convenience!

Appointments at your regular pediatrician for checkups or vaccinations often have to be made weeks in advance, but you can walk right in at Tots ’N’ Teens. We provide expert healthcare for your little one or “not so little” one, at any time.
